Kim Victoria Cattrall (born August 21st, 1956) is an actor from Canada, British. famous for her character as Samantha Jones in the HBO show Sex and the City for which she was awarded five Emmy Award nominations and four Golden Globe Award nominations winning the 2002 Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. Her role reprised in the movies Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010). Her main roles include Police Academy, Big Trouble in Little China Mannequin, and Porky's from the 80s. Kim Cattrall is most often linked to her cult HBO show, Sex & the City, where she played Samantha Jones. Cattrall who is an acclaimed actress, has credited her performance in the role of Samantha Jones as a career-defining role. It was not only an instant hit with audiences in her native country as well, but also helped make her an international superstar. The most well-known role she played was in the comedy-drama film La Dolce Vita. It was a critical as well as commercial success and won the Golden Palm and Oscar at Cannes Film Festival 1960. The actress was born in Skane, Sweden and did modeling before she began acting. She was eventually crowned the Miss Sweden contest. In the US, she started appearing in movies with minor roles. In the film Abbott and Costello Go to Mars she was credited as an Venusian. After appearing in Blood Alley, she won the Golden Globe Award in the category of Youngcomer with the Best.
